Ricky, Shone, Cory and Clayton are so fun and silly!  I love them.  Enjoying a beer after work with these guys makes my night!

Staying warm and fuzzy in the cold Reno nights!

Another Friday night in Reno. I must admit I think I resisted a little in the beginning, being such a free spirit makes me want to wander and get around.  I miss a lot of my friends, and events around reno, tahoe, and ca, oregon, etc.  However I feel at home, I’m well taken care of, I’m supported, and I have an amazing little nest here in Reno to hang with loved ones, meet new people, enjoy reno, help keep food on the table, pay bills, and save up to further our explorations with bohocrush. I really appreciate what I have.  It’s been a constant creative journey to keep money coming in while we work like two little mad scientists.  A willingness to always give our best to everything we do, and lots of love keep our light burning bright.  I learned a long time ago in life, nobody is going to do this for me.  Living as an adult has it’s major rewards, but it does not come without effort.

Met and took shots with the executive chef and front house manager last night of Campo while slinging drinks! Arturo is from Napa Valley and Sam from Portland.  Great guys to know.  This place is going to be amazing.  Italian, Local, consciously raised, community oriented, organic, quality food!  Reno has a lot of love pulsating through it’s streets! I’m so thankful for all of the magic that we have to enjoy.

It’s important to live the most out of life every single day!

I had a great night on the bar.  I love our friday night gathering of loved ones for an after shifter.  life is beautiful.

huge shout out to pie face pizza for filling our bellies.  oh man!

I work 9pm-4amish, so if you need a late night gathering, you know where to find us.  It’s nice and warm inside St. James Infirmary!  and I might add whiskey does wonders in this cold.

Playing on the JukeBox:  Kings of Leon- Revelry

What a Friday night!

Embrace nature when it throws you treasures, last night was amazing.  I started setting up the deck as the dark clouds were rolling in.  The Wind came up, lightning was all around me as I looked over the mountains.  Then the Rain!  Pouring down on our little canvas cover we have on the upper deck.  I loved the drops as they fell on to my shoulders.  The energy was invigorating!  So powerful, of course it didn’t give me much action as far as serving customers, but I did get to meet some of the Big Brothers Big Sisters crew.   I reminded them to hold out, Reno weather will change.  It may have reduced the number of their crew, but they still got to enjoy an amazing fresh rain with bright sun encounter on the deck.  The Rainbow was spectacular.

Caught up with a customer during the storm who just visited his son in Oregon.  I had asked him to ask his son if he knew of the EmrgNSee crew.  And he did!  I love it when my worlds continue to reduce the degrees of separation.

The weather brought about the cold, and in no time I was on the bar downstairs.  Rockin it with the crew.  So many hugs!  Loved ones, and good times!  Clayton got me all smelling yummy with amber oil and cardamom, I LOVE natural oils!  The smell is so inviting, and it doesn’t give me a headache with the alcohols and billions of products in perfume.

Oh! I almost forgot, when I got off work, Jamie and I went over to Midtown Eats to get some to go food.  I got the grilled portabella burger! OMG.  Get yourself some!!!!

and one more thing!  NEVER give Kyle Tequila!  NEVER!

heads up next saturday Lisa of the Lovemakers is djing at the Infirmary next saturday Oct 8th with Noelle.  It’s going to be great HOT music, dancing, and fun.  I’ll see you there.

and I am working tonight, come in for a beer if you are out and about.

Playing on the Jukebox:  Band of Horses: The Funeral

Last night was the Best of Reno Awards.  My my my did St. James Infirmary REPRESENT! You guys seriously need to come check this place out if you have not yet.  Non stop adventure.

Not even standing room was available on the deck last night.  What a night!!!  Thank you Reno for giving us the best evening of the best weather possible.  I’m sitting here writing this and it is pouring down rain, thundering and lightning.  Amazing.  I bet by the time I’m done writing this it will be back to a Sunny day with no clouds!  #Reno

Met lots of new people last night, visited with loved ones, caught up with others adventures, and served a lot of drinks!  I also got to taste a lot of different bottled beers.  When I would sell one, I would ask to taste it. There are so many different beers you guys, you are going to LOVE trying them.  A customer thanked me for getting him to try new things.  Yup yup you can count on me for that!

I remember a conversation with Lisa last night, we were chatting and she had mentioned that I am a much different person now.  We know each other from a long time ago.  A time before I had found what I loved so much in life, before I found what I could put my 200% into, A time before I had so much support and unconditional love on my side, A time before I lived without Fear, and A time before I had opened my eyes and really started living.

We all have the opportunity to guide and make decisions to make our life be as fulfilling and satisfying as we desire.  It just takes the willingness and desire to make at times dramatic steps, or in some cases, fine adjustments, a little can go a long way you know.

Nobody is going to do it for us, it’s time to go for it!

I’ve got the next four nights off!!  I’m not working on tuesday, but I am the following saturday.  Jamie and I switched to assist our scheduling.  I’ve got some rest, relaxation, and lots of work planned.  When I say work too, I am continually learning how to work smarter not harder.  Running a business that never rests…..

to the pursuit!

Lots of laughs and smiles, and so many people!  Thank you all for coming down to share hugs, love, and enjoy the fresh air!  Weather permitting we will have at least one more opportunity or two I hope!!!

Goldfish: Get Busy Living.

Okay, this song is not on our jukebox, however it’s one of my dedications to all of you!

What a couple of days it has been!  Life is truly a special gift, I hope that everybody is aware of this every single day.  What are you waiting for!  Get Busy Living!

Friday night went something like this:

Show up for work as usual.  The weather is getting colder, so the deck was pretty much out of commission friday night.  The few conversations I did have was the news about the plane crash at the air races.  The news nobody ever wants to get no matter where you are or what you are doing.  There was a slight chill in the air and I felt some radical choatic frequencies.  Man!

However I am at work, and as a bartender in the service industry I am here to serve you, to remove you from your world, and to create space and opportunity for you to have a drink and get your mind off things when you need it.  I am a professional ;)

We were all discussing the reports, and opening our hearts for all of the occurrences that were being created due to the afternoon.  Everybody was into it, in our small gathering, so we were able to keep each other updated as the info was released.

Then the deck bar is closed, and I start working down below.  The night is edgy, however Jamie, Joey, Pete, Jordan, and Jordan, and I are maintaining the peace.  Smiles, fun, dancing.  It’s what we do.

…When I am at work, I don’t have access to my phone. I’m very thankful for this.  So on this day there was no ability to check my phone, check on my loved ones, see who is where, and what is going on.  I know that my love has our phone, and is in charge.  He was late arriving, but when he entered, things seemed okay.  I could tell he had been through a bit, yet he is calm, and greets all of our friends with hugs and grabs a beer.

The night is kind of busy, I don’t get a chance to check in with him.  So rather than work myself into a fit out of not knowing, I proceed with the energy that I feel the crowd needs.

I don’t even remember when it happened, but then suddenly a beautiful and heartfelt dance party breaks out on the dance floor.  Jamie and I are both off and immediately we are in!  I danced and laughed and enjoyed times with super amazing people. A HUGE shout out to the UNR English Department.  You guys do make St. James So special!!!! We were putting out the love juices for all!  My cheeks would not stop smiling!  I love that burn.

Finally shone was able to mention to me that he had not heard back yet on our loved ones, and I asked him to check a couple of things, (I’m the internet network guru, he is the artist and visionary) and he had mentioned that our roommate was in the heat of it all.  She works at St. Marys and runs the hospital on her night shifts.  My heart went out to her, I knew she was going to have the most difficult night of her life.  She is a strong and courageous woman.  I knew St. Marys was in good hands with her at the reigns.  She couldn’t give any information to us, so we just had to wait.  I opted to remain on the dance floor and nurture my heart and mind until I heard otherwise.

I’ve learned time and time again, don’t give in to the emotional roller coaster before anything is known.  It doesn’t do anybody any good.  The more stable our hearts and minds are, the better decisions we can make, the faster we can act, the more we can give and do for everybody.

Finally shone came down from the deck (it’s still open without a bartender working) and let me know that all of our loved ones were accounted for.  They are Air Race lovers!  Good news!  We got home and brought our dearest friend “croshane” home to sleep on the couch.  Surrounded by loved ones during a time like this is essential.

My love and hugs and hope for all of you embracing loved ones in the hospitals right now, and loved ones lost.  I know you are in a state of shock and emotionally going through some major battles.  I wish I could reach out through the screen right now and give you the biggest hug I have ever shared!

Saturday  went something like this:

Shone and I spent the afternoon nurturing our roommate, filling her with love and support.  She handled it very well, and although she is not allowed to reveal any information, it was obvious to tell that she had been through quite an ordeal.  I’m so thankful to have her on our side.  People often look at us like we are crazy, how can we be friends and roommates with shones’ ex.  She is an amazing person who gives so much love to this world.  She is family to us, and we always have each other’s back.

We left our roommate in good hands as we head off for a date night/meeting.

I’m in the meeting and get a text to see if I can cover a bar shift.  No worries, I’ll be a little late and I have to go home and change my shoes because I cannot work in heels.  I get on shift, the night just flows by without a hitch.  Shone and I mix date nights with meetings and work all of the time.  So we continued our date night at work.  Some friends landed (they saw my facebook update) and we had a great night, enjoying catching up with loved ones that we have not seen in a while.  It felt good to see them.

I don’t mind working, I’m always willing to give it my best.  Life and success requires effort.  Putting yourself in the right environment so that you don’t mind the works is key!

I’m thankful for all of the opportunities in my life.  I love you St. James Infirmary!

p.s if you catch this post, I’m heading down there shortly to attend a dr. sketchy/bohocrush meet and greet. 3-6pm.  If you like to draw life model action you should come get to know us.  We are happy art monkeys that love the creative journey.  Come down have a drink with us, and get to know this amazing group of people before you attend the event.  It will make you feel good ;)

Digital Underground: Humpty Dance!

The 80’s were rocking last night on the jukebox!  And inevitably, it created a dance party on the deck.  Oh what a night it was.  Lots of laughs, singing, dancing, cleavage, drinking, and an amazing Reno Friday night.

So here is the deal.  I’ve talked to quite a few people, men, women, couples, etc. and everybody keeps telling me they are looking to meet new friends, new lovers, new adventures.  Dating sites don’t float their boat, they live in Reno, and want to find a way to connect.  As it stands, I know a few people ;), and between Jamie and I we know a large majority of Reno people.  So where do we go from here.  Meet and Greets at St. James Infirmary.  I think so!

I personally think that wednesday nights would be a great fit.  It’s in the middle of the week, no need to party real hard, (it’s tough to meet and then remember people)  when we are blowing off steam on a friday night.

So, let me hear your thoughts.  Meet and Greets on wednesday nights?  Let us introduce you, and if things go well, you can plan a date for the weekend?  I’m thinking 7-9pm.  That way if you do make a connection, and want to hang, you can enjoy vinyls by Pete and see where things take you.  I would love your feedback on this.

…..I’m recalling conversations that took place, and keep remembering more and more.  Burning man theme camps, art cars, cuckoo clock makers, snowboarders, jewish girls, social change, senators, polka music, cleavage, beer, criminal law, fresh air, taking care of our skin, shots!, passion, calvin sausages and their tator tots!, and shock g: which by the way, thanks to my dearest love metaphysical of the black rock city allstars who use to perform with digital underground and still great friends with shock g, I’ve gotten to know a lot about.  Shock is the bohemian rap artist!  Making moves and a game changer.  I’m looking forward to having a conversation with him in the near future.  Maybe he’ll come to burning man this year……

another fantastic week.  tonight I am bartending a private party….the fun never ends.  see you next week!

love love love love love!

If I could hit the replay button, I would hit the replay button for friday night over and over again.  All of the familiar faces and loved ones are flooding through my mind right now.  I love it.

The shift started out HOT!  Reno you never cease to amaze me with your choices of weather.  HOT HOT HOT, people seeking shade.  I think many of my years on the playa have taught me how to remain idle, enjoy the heat, and not let it get to me.  I am thankfully in the shade on the deck, and there was at least a nice breeze.

It was not long before some of my girls showed up.  Catching up is always the best.  Adventures, life, plans, goals, etc.

Got into a conversation about singles, dating, online dating, etc.  I told my friend this, and I will tell you all this too.  Out of all the places I have been, worked at, etc. the gatherings at St. James Infirmary bring together a lot of diverse, and quite spectacular people.  If I were a single woman or man, I would totally be hanging out and enjoying conversations, and meeting new people at the bar.  As a couple shone and I love hanging out and meeting new people as well.  It works for all angles.

We discussed a great place to start is to simply start making new friends.  With no expectations on the outcome.  I would say that one of our biggest shortcomings in our female and male counterparts, is the lack of ability to make friends with the opposite sex that are not just about sex and dating.  Just pure friendship.  I think this particular skill set is essential to develop.  I’ve seen too many people discard people away, after casual or more intimate encounters.  We wonder why we have our guards up, and why it’s at times difficult to meet new people.  I believe the karmatic cylcle starts with building social fundamentals.  Kindness, compassion, respect, and integrity.  Meeting people always leads to meeting other people, and the circle of friends, etc. expands beyond belief.  Meet people different than you, get to know something about them, even if it’s not your style.  You’ll be surprised the rabbit hole it can take you down.

By the way during all of this, the deck just happened to be filled with woman.  I don’t know exactly who put the memo out, but a deck full of women, all smelling pretty, and enjoying conversations is my kind of deck.  We outnumbered the men 3 to 1.  I think we should continue this momentum, and start having some kind of social meet and greets.  No expectations ;)  Just meeting new people.  Who’s In?  Don’t worry guys, we want you there too!

Out of nowhere one of my dearest loves Meta shows up!  Oh man, I have not seen him in months, and to see his face out of the corner of my eye was heaven.  I got to share hugs and visit.  I’m so happy he and the black rock city allstars will be rocking the playa this year.  Get yourself to FreeStyle Palace in the 9:00 keyhole if you are going.  Introduce yourself, they welcome all!

And as if that was not amazing, Fresh Bakin rolls in the house!  I got to catch up with Steve after I got off work.  Life, future, goals, and just pure ass kicking awesomeness!  I’m surrounded by people doing amazing things and life, and giving it their best.  Steve puts on the most amazing electronic shows in Reno.  He also plays around, and introduces us to new styles and genres of music.  There is a particular artist coming in sometime soon.  I want to say Saturday October 1st.  I’m putting together a girls night, the music is going to get the bootays wiggling like you’ve never seen.  If you want to be in a room full of women just shaking it like nobody is watching, keep an eye on my facebook wall sometime end of september early october.  :)

Surrounded by love, and community, and people fighting the good fight!  That’s what life is all about.

Oh and Dell, you better believe we are going to be meeting and you can pick my brain.  I would love to help you in anyway I can.  Girls writing about music, and sharing the love for the artistic path is the kind of DOing this girl is all about!

The night ended with us sitting up on top of the deck, with rain drops falling down.  Nothing too moist, just light soft drips that sporadically landed on my face and arms.  Thank you Reno, you always know how to keep life spectacular.

I’m off for a few days, got lots of travelers heading my way,  time to soak up as much of their love as time will offer.

I’m back for Tuesday night Trivia, get your bootays down, engage your brains, have your teams ready, and be prepared for lots of stimulations!  Any questions?

*sometimes I do wish I had a camera and that I could capture the images I see in my mind to tell a story of my nights on the bar. Something mind operated lol that doesn’t need hands.  someday!
