Staying warm and fuzzy in the cold Reno nights!

Another Friday night in Reno. I must admit I think I resisted a little in the beginning, being such a free spirit makes me want to wander and get around.  I miss a lot of my friends, and events around reno, tahoe, and ca, oregon, etc.  However I feel at home, I’m well taken care of, I’m supported, and I have an amazing little nest here in Reno to hang with loved ones, meet new people, enjoy reno, help keep food on the table, pay bills, and save up to further our explorations with bohocrush. I really appreciate what I have.  It’s been a constant creative journey to keep money coming in while we work like two little mad scientists.  A willingness to always give our best to everything we do, and lots of love keep our light burning bright.  I learned a long time ago in life, nobody is going to do this for me.  Living as an adult has it’s major rewards, but it does not come without effort.

Met and took shots with the executive chef and front house manager last night of Campo while slinging drinks! Arturo is from Napa Valley and Sam from Portland.  Great guys to know.  This place is going to be amazing.  Italian, Local, consciously raised, community oriented, organic, quality food!  Reno has a lot of love pulsating through it’s streets! I’m so thankful for all of the magic that we have to enjoy.

It’s important to live the most out of life every single day!

I had a great night on the bar.  I love our friday night gathering of loved ones for an after shifter.  life is beautiful.

huge shout out to pie face pizza for filling our bellies.  oh man!

I work 9pm-4amish, so if you need a late night gathering, you know where to find us.  It’s nice and warm inside St. James Infirmary!  and I might add whiskey does wonders in this cold.

We are getting it on in Reno!

Allow me to take some time to encourage you all to come visit us in downtown/midtown Reno.  If you have not visited in a while, take this opportunity to catch up if you like.

I am a bartender in Reno, I have been for a very long time.   I currently work at my favorite bartending job ever!  If you read this blog, you read my posts after shifts.  Listen to some of the music that I post that you can find in our jukebox, and learn about beer and cocktails.  If you are looking for a casual, social, and spectacular place to hang, come on down!

What’s that you might want some lunch or dinner before you drive from South Reno, Tahoe, or Truckee.  I totally get it.  You want to make the most of it right??

I recommend these restaurants:  I will continue to update as I discover them.

Sup

Midtown Eats

Bowl

Campo

Brasserie St. James (opening in Feb/March 2012) Restaurant and Brewery Coming!!!

Reno is full of life, and I love it.  Shone and I are having the greatest time spending all of our time downtown/midtown as we continue to build and develop a sustainable internet business.  Amazing food, drinks, and people make it all rock!

Meet new people, enjoy drinks with friends or strangers.  We all start out as strangers you know.  We love introducing people and nurturing the social atmosphere at St. James Infirmary.  There is always something to do.

The snow has landed in Reno, and I might add that a warm and cozy spot is the place where you can find me this winter.  My baby love too.  Join us at St. James Infirmary.  We live there!

It’s Friday, come on out.  I’ll be on the bar from 5pm-1amish.  Jamie, Joey, and I will rock the evening and be joined by Zak and Pete.  Say hello to Jordan at the front.  He is a spectacular person that watches over and takes care of our bar.  Come on in and enjoy the love.

Playing on the Jukebox:  Patsy Cline- Back In Baby’s Arms

I hope that everybody is recovering after the big holiday.  Wherever you were, whatever you did.  Life keeps on moving forward, make sure to nurture yourself and your loved ones.  Who wants to miss out on any fun??

Tuesday Night at the Infirmary went something like this:

Caught up with Jamie about the Zombie Crawl.  I can do anything with this woman.  She rocks the house!! We discussed how we have plans to do the Santa Crawl, are you ready?  We got a lot of new people through the door during the crawl.  We are a casual and social environment that is a great place to meet all kinds of people.  We hope to see you in December.

I had my baby love take a photo of our jukebox when he delivered me some hot tea.  Art recently updated the music, come on in and check it out.  Play us some tunes and dance your bootay off.

Had some conversations about not limiting your life and actions based on your age.  I find it troubling when people under 30 start condemning themselves to a life of “I’m so old”, and blah blah blah blah blah!  Really??  I have a nickname for this kind of mentality.  I call it the “grandpa” factor.  I tease, but really.  We need to stop limiting our ability to live a fulfilled and magical life.  Sure it might take some drastic changes, mainly a few refined tweaks, but come on.  Do you really want to live a life of servitude and slavery to your own mental prison??  The light starts with us, the heartbeat, the pulse.  What are you going to do today to activate your passion, to activate your adventures.  I’m 36 years old, I feel like I’m just beginning to hit my stride.  I love you guys, and I am not going to sit by and let any generation limit themselves.  Even the true grandpas, because guess what, I know so many elderly people that are rocking it, and I plan on being a rocking woman till the day I rock no more! = )  #rant

Stop living on auto pilot.   Stay alert, stay fresh, surround yourself with inspiration, with stimulation.

The night also provided me with an opportunity to chat with Jenny and Kristin about sexuality and exploration with others aka in boho terms, sexploration.  Currently on boho we have an amazing forum thread on this particular subject.  Spectacular conversations with the female and male perspectives.  If you are at all interested, I would love to gift you a membership.  A thank you for reading my blog posts.  Please email me at georgette (@) bohocrush (.) com.  Honesty, Communication, Integrity, and a willing and humble heart brings more happiness, harmony, and pleasure than I can even begin to describe.  After Shone and I caught up on Bill Maher last night, we got back into the discussions of sexploration.  I have learned that timing in life plays a major part of what and when opportunities are available.  Breaking the seal, finding the vocabulary, knowing it’s okay to be wrong, realizing that we can change our minds as more information and thoughts are explored.  Writing and sharing with non-judgemental community is an essential part of my life.  I look forward to discussing with you more in the forum.

I love working in a bar.  Working in a mature adult environment rocks my socks!!! Provides many opportunities for stimulating conversations.

Then the nerds started piling in.  We have such a dedicated hard core group.  It’s amazing.  My baby love is playing on tuesdays now.  He’s armed with a beautiful brunette and blonde.  They keep getting so close, someday they are going to take the WIN! practice practice practice.  Come on down and play trivia with us.  Cerebral Stimulations massage the brains and make you feel good.

Allright, well enough of my ramblings.  You all know that I can talk forever.  I care so much about people, about life, about this planet, and I will not stop putting my love into everything I do.

I welcome you to join me tonight at St. James Infirmary for a Dr. Sketchy Anti Art School Reno Edition/ bohocrush social mixer.  I’m not working tonight, I’m going to be sipping a glass of wine and hanging out with bohos and art monkeys.  Come on Down.  21+ No cover: 7pm.  I love Wednesday  nights at the infirmary.

Pete starts spinning records at 9pm, so plan accordingly ;)

What a night! I’m just now blogging about Zombie Crawl night! Check it out!

This was our first Zombie Crawl at St. James Infirmary.  Oh it was not my first, and I am thankful to have the team that I do at the Infirmary.  What a night!!!!

Things went like this.

While I was getting ready for the night, I kept telling myself, pace, pace yourself, it’s going to be a long night.  I knew by the end I was going to feel like I had been consumed by zombies.

I was going to be a Zombie Killer for Halloween, but felt the urge to take it lighter.  My energy lasts longer when I am BEEing Kind, and BEEhaving, so I decided to go with Queen Bee.

We filled our bellies with Sushi.  I need something to last the night and soak up the shots that I knew were going to occur.  It’s the perfect meal for a big shift.

I arrived at 7pm to an amazing, fully decorated bar thanks to Pete!  He did such an amazing job on the place.  It immediately transcended me into the vibe.  I was thankful.  I could tell, it was going to be an amazing evening.

I wish I had photos of all the costumes.  Everybody got into it!  Did you all see Crystal??

Her Black Swan Costume was the best.  Jamie was our 1950’s Housewife, she looked so beautiful! Pete was Pee Wee Herman, Art, Adam and Zak were Zombie Killers.  Jordan the MOST BAD ASS door guy to ever walk the planet was some kind of bad ass ninja shield carrying warrior.

And then it hit!

Wow!!  Jamie and I took the service side, and Pete and Adam, joined later by Art, took the bar side.  We were slinging drinks left and right.  I don’t think I have ever gone through so many bottles of alcohol so quickly!  It was Fun!  Jamie and I were dancing, pouring drinks, dancing and pouring drinks, dancing and pouring drinks.  Zak aka dj haircake was on the decks.  He kept the music pumping all night long.  Dance baby dance!

I saw so many loved ones that night.  It felt so good to look up and see so many smiling faces sharing love with me.  Really you guys, you were the wind beneath my wings!  Not too mention my baby love.  We are never far apart from each other.  He keeps me going strong all night long! I love him so much.  I’m so thankful to share every part of this journey and my life with him.  It means everything to me.

So many random visuals keep popping up in my mind.  Zombies, and Panda Bears, Vampires, Witches, Tiggers, Skeletons……….So many amazing costumes!  It’s quite surreal to be so busy, and pouring so many drinks, to continually look up and see something so unexpected and always different!  It sometimes takes me a second to remember where I am at!

I spy Ben, Jessica, Jamie, Laurel, Crystal, and Kyle has to be there somewhere!  I love you guys!! I totally dig that Anonymous Mask towards the left.  The room was packed all night long!

Dance party!!!!!  Oh how I love our dance parties!!  They are the funnest.  dj Haircake is one of my favorites!!

Were you at St. James Infirmary this night?  What did you think?  Did you enjoy the crawl at our bar?  Do you enjoy the lack of bar fights and drama that does not exist at St. James Infirmary =) We hope you will return again and again!

If you ordered a drink from me, I’m sure you heard my crazy voice.  It’s getting better, but I admit, I wore it out that night.  By 5:30 in the morning I was tired, but I was prepared to be there until 8am.  Then Zak let me go and he finished up.  He is such an incredible man.  I’m thankful for the early out.  I was starting to hit my wall, my natural energy drink I got from Whole Foods was wearing out, and all I could think about was a warm and quiet room.

I’ve been sleeping, recovering, and doing NOTHING for the past couple of days.  I took Monday off from the internets, and must admit it felt amazing.  My voice is still funky, but I feel so much better!  It’s amazing what rest can do!

I’m back at it tonight.  It’s Tuesday, and I hit the bar at 4pm.  Reno’s Votes Best Trivia Night hosted by Brad Bynum is around 8pm(ish), if you are ready to rock your brains, come on down.  We have the greatest trivia nights ever.

Last night was phenomenal!  Way to Represent Reno!  Dayum.  Pete and I had a great time catching up and hanging out in the early part of our shift, and then BAM! CAPOW! ZAP!!  The storm came on.

I love it when the energy picks up and all I can do is just do it!  I saw so many people I wanted to share a hug and love with, and I hope you all know how much I love you!  But a girl has got to work and hold up her part in the magnificent team that I work with.

Besides shone and sarah with boho, I’ve never had anybody at a bar like the team I do at St. James Infirmary.  People who always have my back while I am working, as I do theirs.  Every single day, for the past year, it’s amazing!  I cherish it so deeply!!

The bands came on, I really liked it! Wow!  yay for Sylvan and Shane!  I had no idea that Sylvan sang!!!  Rowr!  What a night!  Fresh new sounds are always emerging out of Reno, it’s spectacular!

It’s friday, Jamie and I are going to rock it. Come on down and blow off some steam with us.

and by the way, if I did not have the team like I do, there is no way in this world I would want to work another beer crawl!  I’ll be killing zombies left and right tomorrow night, let’s do this!

Georgette, Zombies, and Music! Coming up this week at St. James Infirmary

Hey guys,

Submit your photos with me!  Hey guys, real quick before the post, I don’t have my phone nor the time at work to take photos of the night.  So I am going to count on you to come up and take a picture with me, and then submit it to this blog!  I have added the submit button to the top of the page.  Every week I will choose and announce a winner on this blog.  Come in on my shift and I will buy you a drink!  Let the games begin!

I know I have been leaving you all hanging, not blogging as much lately.  So much going on, and trying to find time to maintain grounding and balance.  It’s all good, you know, this girl just needs to make sure that she is taking care of things on all levels.

I had my first night of training to close the bar last saturday.  I must say, it’s more my tempo.  I’m a vampire what can I say.  Although I do appreciate all the different shifts.  They keep me on my toes without getting to set in my ways and routine.  I love diversity.

Thought I would share a post with you of all the fun things to look forward to this week.  I’ll also try and do this on mondays, so you know how to plan your week :)  I will then continue with follow up posts after my shifts like I do.  Writing helps me stay grounded.  I love to do it.
